An Oozing 100

Had to update to say I had the Disgusting Oozeling drop out of the 100th bag I found. Kinda awesome. :)

Who knows... maybe the trend will continue and I'll get the Baron's mount on my 100th (since statistics were added) run through there. I'm at 90 kills so far with nothing... but who knows -- anything could happen!

Jaina and Zelda

Just realized today the similarities between Jaina Proudmoore and Princess Zelda.
  • They have the same white dress and purple sort of bodice piece.
  • Shoulder armour, but not much else.
  • Long, blond hair and blue eyes.
  • Magical abilities.
  • Both are princesses (of sorts), far away from their homeland.
(Half of this post was lost due to Blogger not working for a few days, so train of thought is gone... but that was about the gist of it.)

So I cancelled my WoW subscription. Didn't log in for a couple months, not even just before the time ran out. I sometimes wish I could still log in, but I don't really have anything in mind to log in for. Maybe some PvP. Hm....

Lists.

I haven't logged in in weeks and it feels weird but also not. My poor characters must be collecting dust. I wish I had things to post here cause I like writing for the blog, but by lack of playing, there's not a lot to post about!

I was thinking I should make a new list (because there have been many past lists for many things) of Cataclysm things I should do, which seem like a shame to not have done yet. For example, "The Day Deathwing Came" quest in badlands, or making a non-beta Goblin, seeing the new plaguelands, lifegrip... et cetera. Maybe it will inspire me.

Although there are lots of non-WoW things to be excited about right now, like Portal 2! So soon.

One of Those.

I've finally become "one of those". The casual player. Not that I was ever super-"hardcore", but I definitely put a lot of time and effort into the game over the years, usually always a raider. I've unhooked myself. I can step into Azeroth when I want to, and be enamored when I'm there, but also step out easily and mostly forget about Azeroth until I log in again on a slow evening.

I'm glad, though. I don't think I'll ever stop playing completely (I love the characters I've created too much), but I feel like I actually have time to do other things, at least once I stop thinking about and have finished moving (I'm moving!). I have a few paintings in mind, and some songs I want to transpose for the cello.

I did manage to finish SCII a few weeks ago, and then worked on SCII and Portal achievements (but that's for another post!). I'd be playing Mass Effect if I wasn't saving all my money until after said moving.

As a casual, I mostly log in to do random dungeons, look at how the guild's progressing, check mail on alts, and level my worgen rogue (slowly but surely). My two mains are only barely geared to enter heroics, not that I've tried them yet. Except for the heroic thing, it sounds like anyone else doing dailies. It's just not daily for me! Oh, and I still read WoWinsider all the time, heh.

Any other casuals reading this? What do you do when you log in? How long have you been a casual, and how much do you play?

Minions of Hakkar, hear your God!

The sanctity of this temple has been compromised. Invaders encroach upon holy ground! The Altar of Blood must be protected. Kill them all!

Er, I mean. HURRAY! ZG is coming back! :) I'm excited to see what this new version will be like. There will also be new versions of the mounts that managed to elude me, which I'm looking forward to getting. (I bet Blizzard was planning this right from when they took the raid out, by the way.)

Just when I was thinking, "WoW just isn't that interesting anymore," ZG comes along again... not that this turns my thoughts around completely. But it's still something nice to look forward to.

Boat Rides and Authenticators.

My druid likes to go for boat rides through the Stormwind canals while he waits for the instance queue to pop, it's calming. As soon as one loop finishes, I fly him back to the start. I'll be sad when the boats go at the end of the Love is in the Air holiday.

Also, my authenticator always seems to float around my desk... every other time I go to log in, I have to do a little search for it. There aren't even that many things on my desk! It's usually hiding under my keyboard.

They'll be calling me any day now.

I don't think a night elf can be "in the dark" about something.

I was questing through the new Darkshore on my worgen (super fun by the way, got to the zone's 90 quest achievement very quickly), and came across a night elf in the Mathystra's post area who admitted to being "in the dark" about some of the troll activity. I read the sentence again and thought, how does that work? That shouldn't be a phrase that nights elves are familiar with or relate to! If anything, that should make something even clearer! They live in the dark!

Obviously, Blizzard needs me on their writing team. I would be a great quest editor.
